This Will Be (Bandleader Version)
Een kleine uitleg van Ben aan het begin van de minimix is hier te beluisteren.
This is a remix in the original sense from a recording made in the traditional way. Back then everybody gathered in the studio where in sperate corners and spaces all players and singers where set up with the appropriate mics, including sound barriers between certain instruments to cut back crosstalk between microphones. When the sound from every microphone was checked, the bandleader started a countdown to which everyone started. Such a recording (called "take") was made on anything from a mono recorder (pre-Beatles era) to a 96 channel recording (possible now-a-days). This particular one was recorded on 24 tracks and what you hear in this mix, is a different way of mixing down those original 24 tracks. In some parts, the vocal tracks were muted providing instrumental parts and in other sections instruments where muted to obtain all the bits which were edited together afterwards. In this mix you can also hear the bandleader starting of the whole thing, and commenting at the end. (Ben Liebrand) |
